The kids and I loaded up to go to the beach last Wednesday. It was an easy drive (except for that one time we pulled off at an exit for gas/potty stop only to discover the SC State Penitentiary was right across the street from the one gas station; we joined a looong line of cars making u-turns to head to the next exit). We got to St. Simons about 4:30 and had plenty of time to unpack, play in the pool, walk the dogs and get ourselves into beach mode.
Nanoo and I took the kids down to the beach on Thursday morning. It was low tide so there were some muddy holes on the beach. The kids covered themselves in mud ... I told them people pay good money for mud baths like that!
