Popsicle Party

Some friends from Sewanee, Katherine & Emily, hosted a Popsicle Party today at a nearby playground.  The sprinkler was turned on so Olivia and McIver wore their bathing suits.  McIver darted over to the sprinkler the moment we arrived.  Olivia was a little more reserved and stuck closer to me.  She was able to meet lots of girls who are going to be in 2nd grade at the same school.  We also met at least 2 boys who will be in McIver's class with Mrs. Butler.  There were some familiar faces and a lot of new faces.  I'm sure I won't remember everyone's names, but I'll at least be able to recognize people around school.

Olivia warmed up to two little girls in particular.  One of them, a little girl named Leah, ended up coming home from the party with us.  She is the youngest of three (big brother and big sister) so I think she was glad not to have to ride along while her mom made the rounds picking up her siblings.  They disappeared upstairs and had a great time listening to Olivia's iPod and giggling.

We're even more excited for school to start now!  Only 2 weeks to go...
