What I Learned This Week (A Carnival)

One of the blogs I read just about every day - Musings of a Housewife - has started a "What I Learned This Week" carnival. I thought it might be fun to participate since my life is about to get crazy busy with prepping the house to sell, house-hunting, and trying to keep some sense of normalcy for Olivia and McIver. I also think it will be nice to have to slow down enough each week to think about what is going on, rather than just pressing through each day. Plus, each participant is entered in a drawing to win a great casserole dish with a stand (just what I need - something else to pack!). So, here's what I learned this week:

Hot tea with lemons really does make a scratchy throat feel better. I seem to have lost my voice sometime after the Oyster Roast on Saturday night. Yesterday, I sat down with a big cup of hot tea and took it easy for a little while (taking a break from madly trying to organize my closet, which is a task I will get back to later today). It worked - my voice isn't back yet, but it felt really good to just slow down and enjoy a cup of tea.

No, don't tell me that...my mom will be proven right! lol

I have never been a tea drinker, unless I am sick. The sleepy time tea is my favorite for that time.

Hope you feel better!

Thanks for playing! You know, I have heard that, but I detest tea, and I'm not crazy about lemon, at least not warm lemon, and so I usually choose to suffer instead. I'll try to remember this, though, for when my kids need it!

Oh absolutely, girl! Try some honey with it, too - that's even better because it sortof coats your throat and helps the benefits last longer!

I'm not a big hot beverage drinker but hot tea does always make me feel better. Feel better soon.

We always do the warm salt water gargle - but this sounds much more appealing!!
