It was another great birthday! Nanoo and Pop sent a package several WEEKS ago with notes all over that it could not be opened until July 10. So, much to my chagrin, I waited and waited. Finally, the kids convinced me that I didn't need to wait for Will to get home to open it. Here's what Nanoo found for me... a wine glass with sayings printed all over it - "I need a new purse, I need new shoes, etc." Very cute! And I just might need to add to the collection.
Once Will got home from work, the kids gave me their cards and the greatest gift - a new bike. Now the kids and I can ride bikes together. Olivia and I went for a ride around the neighborhood as soon as we got my tires all pumped up. Olivia was already in her PJs so she thought it was pretty funny to get to ride her bike around the block with me.
After our bike ride, Olivia and I were reading her daily devotional Bible. The 'lesson' for my birthday was "Don't worry about tomorrow. ... Tomorrow will have its own worries." (Matthew 6:34). Amen to that! It reminded us to savor today's 'wonderful moments.' Certainly, one of my greatest memories will be our quick ride around the block - just the two of us, with Olivia giggling the whole way because "it's so funny to be riding my bike in my pajamas."
