Last week's storm left our yard a mess. So, I told Olivia and McIver they could earn some extra allowance money by helping to pick up pinecones in the yard. I thought 5 cents per pinecone seemed reasonable. Not so! McIver picked up 140 pinecones and Olivia (using the wheelbarrow!) collected a whopping 236. For those of you playing at home, that amounts to $18.80 ($7 to McIver and $11.80 to Olivia). Next time, I'll lower the rate!
